Tiny Creatures & Big Imaginations
This week at Fun In French, we took a closer look at the fascinating world of insects — blending observation, vocabulary, and creativity.
We began by studying insect anatomy in French, learning the names of key body parts through drawing and writing practice.
Then we discovered the extraordinary work of Édouard Martinet, a French artist known for his whimsical insect sculptures made from vintage metal parts — sparking curiosity and wonder.
After a quick quiz on Francophone culture, the children gathered recycled and natural materials from the park and used them to build their own insect creations — each one as imaginative and unique as the child who made it.
It was a session full of movement, language, and invention — proving once again that learning in French can be playful, poetic, and hands-on.
