Les Oiseaux & the Art of Expression

This week, our atelier was inspired by Henri Matisse’s poetic collage Les Oiseaux (The Birds).
We explored the theme of birds through language, movement, and creation, with activities designed to awaken both imagination and vocabulary.

The children:

• Began learning the beautiful French song L’Enfant et l’Oiseau,

• Collaborated on a playful, imaginative poem,

• And created their own colorful paper collages, interpreting the movement and softness of birds through cut-out shapes and composition — just like Matisse.

Through this multi-sensory journey, the children were immersed in sound, shape, and story, all in French — deepening their ability to express and connect, while having fun.
